Making Money With Articles
Lesson 1 from You Can Make Money Writing
I wouldn't say that making money with articles is easy, but
it is relatively simple. You do need to put in some work
- possibly a lot of hours at first. If, like myself, you're a
bit challenged when it comes to the latest technology, you'll
probably need to do some serious learning about the internet
and basic page-building. The good news is that you do not need
to be an HTML expert, and you can learn what you need to know
as you go along.
What if you don't have a website and are not ready to build
one yet? Lesson 21 has several great ways to make money online
with your writing - without a website. Several of the methods
there do not require any money either, so if you are on a really
tight budget, you might use one of these ways to raise the money
needed to start a proper website. You might also just skip having
a website altogether, but I highly recommend having a website
at some point.
The rest of what I cover here assumes that you do have
a website, or that you plan to build one. Wherever you are in
the process, you can find links to everything from HTML help
to domain name search tools at 999articles.com, on the page,
Internet Marketing Tools.
I'll try to keep that page updated from time to time.
Why Consider Making Money Online?
You can start an internet business for $40 and run it for
$20 per month - no exaggeration. This does assume you already
have a computer, and that you want to start slowly. We pay about
$10 per year for each domain name, and hosting costs as little
as $4 monthly if you pay for a year in advance. Some internet
providers still charge as little as $9 per month (although the
connection is usually slow). Doing the math then, we find that
your minimum monthly expenses can be less than $20 per month.
In our own business, after years building it up, our fixed
monthly expenses are much higher. We pay for various services
that are not needed to get started. But our core expenses - the
ones we would not want to stop paying - are:
Cable Internet Connection: $45
Hosting for all sites: $25
Fifty domain names (most not active sites): $50
Email auto-responders (for my courses and newsletters): $40
These most basic expenses add up to about $160 monthly. Other
expenses are substantial, but are also largely optional. We can
cut them out at any time if necessary. Keep in mind too, that
our core expenses are based on having about 50 domain names,
50,000 subscribers to various mailing lists, and dozens of active
sites. Your own expenses would not have to be this high when
starting.
You'll probably buy certain tools, and pay for good cable
internet access, but it will still be a low risk, low-expense
business compared to almost any other. You could start with nothing
at all using a credit card to buy a computer and some software
tools, and your total monthly expenses including credit card
payments would still be less than $100.
Monthly expenses between $15 and $100! Or start with absolutely
no money and no risk, and make the money to take the next step
(see Lesson 21). With what other business is this the case?
Making Money With Articles - How to Do It
By now you may be wondering how you'll actually be making
money with articles, so let's lay out the steps necessary. Here's
a basic outline of how you can start from scratch and make money
with a website, using articles as your basic marketing tool for
generating traffic. If you already have a website up and running
and just need the traffic, you can skip ahead to step five.
